Long-time friends and customers of Darnton & Hersh Fine Violins will remember that we used to host wonderful chamber concerts in our own salon, despite very limited space. But D&H founder Stefan Hersh had a larger vision for what those musical activities could become. In 2018, Hersh realized a long-held dream to spin off a not-for-profit arts incubator organization and performance venue in a separate, custom-built space. Guarneri Hall NFP was launched in August of that year and has been growing ever since.
Guarneri Hall NFP delivers extraordinary classical music to a broad and diverse audience through a mix of live performances, original music videos, and other digital content.
The organization aims to grow the classical music community by providing resources and support for emerging artists, music educators, and anyone who wants to learn more about music.
Its home is Guarneri Hall, a uniquely intimate, custom-built, 60-seat venue in the heart of downtown Chicago (located several floors below Darnton & Hersh Fine Violins), an optimal space for acoustic music designed by Threshold Acoustics.
Guarneri Hall offers:
- Live performances
- Streamed events
- Original films
- Digital publishing
- Support for artists
